Trond Frantzen
Senior Consulting Partner,
The Institute
Trond
Frantzen (senior consulting partner) is a management consultant
and author, specializing in business requirements
analysis best practices. His work ranges from
developing The Institute’s event-based approach to
rapid requirements analysis, to authoring five
books including, “Mastering Business Systems
Analysis”, and delivering
mission critical
and strategic consulting services to clients.
Trond gained his
business and technology understanding from a wide
range of projects working with clients in Canada and
the United States as a specialist in system
development “best practices”. He has broad industry
experience in financial services and insurance,
retail, manufacturing, aerospace,
telecommunications, government services,
distribution and consulting services. He has
extensive interdisciplinary experience in information technology and business operations –
including project management, business and system
requirements
analysis, systems implementation, and metrics
(measurement and estimation). He brings considerable
international experience to his clients.
Trond received his Bachelor of Arts in business
administration
and computer science from Loyola College
(Concordia University). His first projects (with
Canadair, a leading Canadian aerospace company, now
Bombardier) involved the CL-89 drone rocket and the
CL-215
water bomber. He then joined Industrial Acceptance
Corporation (IAC) in Montréal where he was a
programmer and system designer for several corporate
business systems. He later joined Quantum
Information Resources as a consultant on many
projects, including as project leader on Pratt and
Whitney Canada's massive JT15D non-destructive engine
testing project.
Trond was also a senior international consultant
with Yourdon, Inc. delivering many consulting
assignments and workshops with clients in Canada,
the United States and the U.K. Later, he led a
massive bail-out project with Prudential
Assurance to get an off-the-rails policy issue
system up-and-running in record time.
Trond lives in Calgary with his family. His interests
are focussed on providing specialized
coaching and consulting services to clients, delivering
seminar workshops for The Institute, and
delivering mission critical
and strategic consulting services to clients..
As a professional with many years of experience,
Trond has been recognized by the Canadian
Information Processing Society (CIPS) and the Data
Processing Management Association (DPMA). He was
also a finalist as Entrepreneur of the Year
in the 1996 Oakville Awards for Business Excellence.
